The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in New Orleans.
Hello, everybody! It's me, Shannon Denney, your host of the New Orleans Daily — here to tell you all the most important things happening in town these days.
First, today's weather:
Showers and a heavier t-storm. High: 89 Low: 79.
Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:
- A woman who had been fatally shot was found on Iberville Street on Monday morning. Police responded to a call of gunfire and found the victim who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds around 9:30 a.m. She was later transported to a hospital where she was officially declared dead. (WWLTV.com)
- The Uptown waterline repair construction along Leake Avenue has been extended two weeks after another damaged waterline was discovered in the same area. Traffic barricades and detours will be put up on Broadway and Magazine. They will shift traffic towards Carrollton and Henry Clay. (WGNO New Orleans)
- An Orleans Parish Civil District Court Judge has filed a restraining order against Louisiana's trigger laws that were previously set to enforce the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade. The suit was filed by a Shreveport abortion clinic that is arguing that the trigger laws are unclear on enforcement and executions. (New Orleans Patch)
