🌱 Abortions Temporarily Legal In LA + Man Shot To Death In Treme

Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:

  1. Mayor Cantrell and the city of New Orleans celebrated the completion of a $5.6 million roadway and water line project that has been underway as a part of rebuilding and helping the flood and rainwater drainage systems across New Orleans. This project, which was funded by FEMA, took place in the Filmore South Neighborhood. (Press Release Desk)
  2. NOPD responded to the intersection of St. Phillip and Treme Streets early Thursday morning to the a man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Police arrived at 12:43 a.m. and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. NOPD has yet to release information on the motive or identity of the victim or suspect. (WGNO New Orleans)
  3. Abortions are temporarily legal again in the state of Louisiana after a Baton Rouge judge has granted another temporary restraining order against the state's trigger laws allowing doctors to resume practicing the procedure. Dr. Jennifer Avenge, the Chief of the New Orleans Health Department expressed concern that the anti-abortion trigger laws were hurting patients and doctors. (WDSU New Orleans)
