🌱 Airport Worker Dies In Accident + S&WB Billing Advisory Committee

Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- In a tragic accident, an airport baggage handler for Louis Armstrong Airport passed away on Tuesday after her hair was caught in a belt loader. Jermani Thompson was unloading luggage around 10:30 pm when the accident occurred and she was taken to a hospital where she later died. The 26-year-old woman was employed with GAT Airline Ground Support who is contracted with Frontier Airlines. (New Orleans Patch)
- State lawmakers, City Council members and stakeholders have come together to form the SWBNO Billing Advisory Committee which will address the Sewage and Water Board's billing issues. After their first meeting on Wednesday, the committee agreed on an ordinance setting rules for billing procedures that will now go to the public for a vote. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Early Thursday morning a man was shot at the intersection of North Peters and Bienville Street. NOPD began investigating after the incident occurred at 12:55 a.m. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. (WDSU New Orleans)
