Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- The Amtrak train service from Mobile to New Orleans is set to return with stops along the Mississippi coast as a settlement has been reached between Amtrak and opposing entities. This will be the first time Amtrak will return to the Gulf Coast since Hurricane Katrina. The parties involved have until June 2023 to report that the details of the settlement are fulfilled. (WKRG News 5)
- One man died in a fatal shooting in unincorporated Gretna on Monday evening. Around 11:30 p.m., Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the scene on Grovewood Drive where a man was found outside a home with a gunshot wound and who was the pronounced dead at the scene. The victim or any suspects have not yet been identified. (WDSU)
- Six men were arrested at the Nine Times Social Aid and Pleasure Club Second Line parade on Sunday on illegal guns and weapons charges. The club's Second Line typically brings out many families to celebrate the history of the Ninth Ward with its annual parade through Desire. (FOX8LIVE)
