First, today's weather:

A shower and thunderstorm. High: 83 Low: 74.

Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:

  1. New Orleans saw four separate armed robberies within 24 hours starting around noon in Marigny on Tuesday when a man was held a gunpoint by three people while he was patted down for his belongings. The second robbery transpired nearby a few hours later. The last two incidents were vehicle robberies. Around 5:30 p.m. a man's car was stolen on Burgundy Street and another man was carjacked at gunpoint around 1 a.m. on Wednesday on St. Nick Drive. (WGNO New Orleans)
  2. NOPD has confirmed that one of their officers has been arrested in connection to a DUI incident last week in the Warehouse District. The Fraternal Order of Police announced they will be representing the officer, Denzel Milion, as the investigation progresses. (WDSU New Orleans)
  3. In, finally, some good news regarding crime in New Orleans, NOPD announced that the month of July saw the lowest number of homicides this year. With a total of 17 homicide cases, compared to the 31 seen in June, it appears that violent crime is tentatively trending downwards in NOLA. (WGNO New Orleans)
