Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- A man was shot and killed on Port Street on Sunday evening. Shortly after 6:30 PM, a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds by NOPD. He was brought to a hospital where he was later declared dead. (WWLTV)
- Mayor Cantrell announced that she will attend a conference in Amsterdam this week. The conference takes place from October 9th-11th, and will be her first travel excursion after she agreed to repay the city for the thousands in airfare upgrades from previous trips. (WDSU)
- Two people were cut near Jackson Square this weekend by a man wielding a machete. A woman was fighting with the suspect when he produced a machete and cut her hand when another man attempted to intervene and was cut on the hand and face before the suspect left the scene. Both victims received medial treatment. (Fox8Live)
