Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:
- New Orleans DA Jason Williams has taken a second job as a civil litigator with a private law firm. The private law firm also happens to be the firm that defended Williams during his tax fraud trail last month. The firm, known as SEM&M, is based at Poydras Street. (FOX 8 Local First)
- The $5.5 million roadwork project on MLK Jr. Boulevard began on Monday. The project, financed by the Federal Highway Administration Surface Transportation program, will provide protected bike lanes, better crosswalks and ADA accessible ramps. (WDSU New Orleans)
- As the "smart cities" investigation drags on, Johnathan Rhodes, former director of the Mayor's Office of Utilities, and a central figure in the controversy and investigation, has resigned from his job. It is unclear exactly his reason, but the mayor's office is working to replace him while the investigation continues. (The Lens)
