Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. A woman was shot and killed on Tuesday night in Harvey. Police were called to the scene around 11 pm on Rochelle Street where the woman was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle where she later died. (WWLTV.com)
  2. Flu season seems to be starting off strong this year with a 31% test positivity rate. This large type of outbreak, according to Dr. Kline at the Children's Hospital New Orleans, is usually more typical during the height of flu season in the winter months and many are concerned that it bodes poorly for the rest of the season. The best way you can prevent catching the virus is getting vaccinated and washing your hands! (WGNO New Orleans)
  3. The New Orleans Reverend who was accused of Monday laundering has plead guilty. Dr. Charles J. Southall, pastor for First Emanuel Baptist Church, allegedly obtained $889,000 through fraud. He plead guilty to one count of money laundering and faces up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised released, a $250,000 fine and a mandatory special assessment. (WDSU New Orleans)
