Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- The lives of two victims were claimed in a Sunday morning shooting in Central City. Police arrived at the scene of the double homicide around 8:30 a.m. on Danneel Street where they found two men who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. (Uptown Messenger)
- A woman injured six deputies while refusing to exit a plane at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Thanksgiving Day. She reportedly kicked, bit and spat on Jefferson Parish deputies as they attempted to remove her at the request of Spirit Airlines workers who said she had grown agitated and questioned passengers she thought to be Latino if they were smuggling cocaine. The woman posted her bail and has a court date for January. (ABCNews)
- The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, visited New Orleans this weekend to celebrate cultural and historical ties and said he looks forward to the future to discuss climate change policies. Macron also met with Elon Musk to discuss his effort on protecting Twitter users from harmful content. Macron walked through the French Quarter and spoke with Gov. John Bel Edwards and energy company representatives. (APNEWS)
