Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- A 2016 St. Tammany homicide has finally been solved after a severed foot found in a bucket in the home of a suspect in 2019 was connected to the victim. DNA analysis revealed that the victim in the 2016 homicide, a man who was found on Highway 90, not only IDed the victim but also tied evidence to alleged killer who was found dead of natural causes in 2019. (NOLA.com)
- Four New Orleans restaurants have been robbed over four-day span from Saturday to Tuesday. Felipe's Taqueria, El Taco Loco, Brown Butter, and a Freret Street business were all hit sequentially by one or two suspects, and all robbed of cash, register and other equipment. (FOX 8 Local First)
- City Council has approved funding to add license plate readers and triple the amount of surveillance cameras in the French Quarter. City Council approved a $70,000 increase to the French Quarter Management District, whose role is to increase public safety and sanitation in the Quarter, which is already one of the most surveilled parts of New Orleans. (The Lens)

- The New Orleans deputy constable who was shot while trying to serve an eviction notice has been released from the hospital and is said to be recovering well. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Crescent City Classic and YMCA Officials have announced the return of the long-anticipated 5K Race, aka The Corporate Classic, on Nov. 12! (New Orleans Magazine)
