Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. Two teens were shot, and one was killed in a shooting on Frenchman Street Tuesday morning. One teen was declared dead at the scene, their age has not been reported, and the other teen, a 14 year old, was taken to the hospital for treatment and it is said that their condition is stable. The shooting took place in the 1300 block of Frenchman around 12:30 am. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. Sheriff Susan Hutson was reportedly unable to appear in court after a New Orleans judge requested her presence to question the lack of transporting inmates to their court hearings. Although Hutson sent two representatives in her place, the judge is considering holding her in contempt. The Sheriff's Office cites that it is operating at 45 percent capacity of required deputy staffing as the reason for the number of inmates missing their court hearings. (FOX 8 Local First)
  3. The cell phone of a man reported missing has turned up in the Eighth District. 25-year-old Shaquill Sears, who was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants, was reported missing after leaving his home in the 2nd district with a childhood friend on Oct. 12. His phone then turned up two days later. (WDSU New Orleans)
