First, today's weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m.. High: 98 Low: 82.
Here are the top four stories in New Orleans today:
- New Orleans' outdoor dining "parklets" that were a product of the pandemic have now been made permeant by the city council. Restaurants are now allowed to seat customers on public-facing property. (Eater New Orleans)
- The city of New Orleans is under a heat advisory through Sunday the June 26. Public libraries and community centers will be open if you need to stop in and cool off during the potentially 115 degree heat wave. (Press Release Desk)
- Forty-five New Orleans firefighters were called to extinguish a 'suspicious fire' on Frenchman Street around 2:30 on Friday morning. This was the second fire at the location in under a week, the unoccupied single-family home caught fire that spread to it's neighbors and it took 16 units to regain control. (WGNO New Orleans)
- A woman was shot and carjacked in New Orleans East on Friday morning. Around 7:30 in Little Woods the victim was attacked and shot then had her car stolen. She was transported to the hospital for treatment and recovery. (WGNO New Orleans)
