Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- Five people were shot over the course of a 5-hour period on Sunday night. Around 7 p.m. a man was shot on Humanity Street, and shortly after around 9 p.m. two men were shot, though the location of the incident is still unknown. The fourth shooting took place on Mandeville Street where a man was shot around 11:30 p.m. The last victim, a woman on North Claiborne Avenue, was shot just after midnight. (WWLTV.com)
- A woman who tripped and fell into the street on Canal Street was tragically killed in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning. The victim's identity has not been released, but the 33-year-old woman was attempting to cross the median just a after midnight when she was struck by a light-colored sedan that then fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. (FOX8LIVE)
- UNO canceled its classes and closed the campus on Monday after a former student disrupted a class last week with an 'erratic' manner and then posted a video of themselves purchasing an assault rifle to social media. The former student and suspect was monitored and then arrested for terrorizing, stalking and unlawful disruption of the operation of a school. Classes will resume Tuesday. (WWLTV.com)
