Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:
- Krewe Du Vieux has announced a route change just a week before it was set to roll, leaving local businesses scrambling. Many bars and restaurants along the original route are frustrated after losing out on the revenue that is usually generated from Krewe Du Vieux while businesses along the new route must begin preparing for the swaths of people they expect to see on Saturday. - New Orleans City Council announced that it would like to work with the school board to bring a truancy center to the city where students who are missing school could be brought to while their parents are contacted. The City Council is attempting to combat juvenile crime by investigating its relationship with truancy. The council is also considering establishing a curfew center. (WGNO New Orleans)
- A man was shot to death on Constance Street on Sunday night. Police responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. and found a man who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. NOPD began investigating the homicide after the victim died at the scene. (WWLTV)
