🌱 LA Schools Won't Follow New Title IX Guidelines + Boil Advisory

Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:
- Louisiana schools will not be required to follow President Biden's new Title IX LGBTQ protections according to the state Superintend of Education, Cade Brumley. Brumley released a statement claiming that the Department of Education do not agree with Biden's protections and don't believe they are mandatory. (WDSU New Orleans)
- NOPD is asking for public assistance as they try to locate a vehicle that was carjacked on August 31 on Carrolton Avenue. The red 2019 Hyundai Elantra with Florida plates was stolen from the victim who was held at gunpoint while approaching the vehicle and was forced to give over her keys. (WGNO New Orleans)
- A water main break on Hickman Road has caused a precautionary water boil advisory for parts of New Orleans East until further notice. Areas encompassed by Paris Road, Vanderkloot Avenue, Morrison Road and Haynes Boulevard should all boil or use bottled water until further notice and the S&WB says the water pressure is back to a safe amount. - The New Orleans Recreational Development commission is kicking off its fall season of Movies in the Park! This is three months of free family friendly outdoor films at NORD sites across the city.
