Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- The perpetrator in a 2019 Metairie house burglary has been officially found guilty by a jury after an air conditioning company worker cased the house he he provided service to and later attempted to rob the two occupants of the home. He beat the one of the victims with the barrel of his gun before fleeing the premises into a getaway car that later crashed. The perpetrator was convicted of beating the customer and attempting to rob their home. (NOLA.com)
- A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for New Orleans East that includes the area of Lucerne St, through I-10, Paris Road and Haynes Boulevard. The water pressure has dropped significantly after a contractor hit a water main. (WDSU New Orleans)
- 6 people were shot and injured in a Magazine Street bar on Friday night. NOPD is currently searching for the perpetrator who left four women and two men suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower body. (WDSU New Orleans)

- COVID wastewater testing has expanded to include Jazz Fest, a festival that brings in many tourists and potential spreaders of the virus. With a current spike in cases, this wastewater testing will give officials a better read on the current state of COVID in NOLA. (FOX 8 Local First)
