Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:

  1. According to the New Orleans Coroner's report, a man pulled from a burning fire in his "man cave" had already died from a gunshot wound. The fire broke out on Jan. 15 on Cohn Street and was big enough to damage a house nearby. The fire's origins are still currently being investigated. (FOX 8 Local First)
  2. Electronic tracking of adult offenders through bracelets and ankle monitors by the NOPD have increased recently following the leadership of the interim superintendent, Michelle Woodfork, but only a small portion of youth offenders who have been ordered to be monitored are being tracked. According to the director of one the monitoring programs, the practice is at an all-time high. (FOX 8 Local First)
  3. A shooting on S. Rampart Street on Friday left two injured. Around 5 p.m., police received a call about a shooting and confirmed it about 20 minutes later. The two victims were an 18-year-old boy whose leg was grazed and a 65-year-old woman who was injured while trying to move away from the action. (WDSU)
