Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- Six people were shot, leaving two killed in an overnight mass shooting in the Lower 9th Ward on Monday. At 12:30 am on December 26, first responders found victims at a large gathering on St. Maurice Street. Two victims were taken to the hospital by EMS, two were taken by a private vehicle and two were declared dead at the scene. (FOX 8 Local First)
- A heavy cloud of smoker covered New Orleans East on Monday afternoon from a massive car fire that broke out around 3 PM. Two trucks and a pile of tires were illegally dumped before being set on fire. Multiple firetrucks were called to the scene to extinguish the flames. (WBRZ)
- New Orleans Comedian, Brandon Montrell, or 'Boogie B', was killed by a stray bullet Friday evening in the Rouses parking lot on Baronne Street. Police are currently searching for two unidentified suspects and a person of interest to seek justice. (WWLTV)
