Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. A man who was previously convicted of perpetrating a mass shooting in 2014 now walks free after his case was retried. Blair Taylor and Terrance Nelson were convicted in an August 2014 case where two men opened fire on a group of people, injuring 5 and killing 2. After the 2020 Ramos Supreme Court decision, which declared nonunanimous jury decisions unconstitutional, Blair Taylor was able to retry his case where the original jury found him guilty 11-1. (FOX8LIVE)
  2. A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in an apartment complex on Sunday afternoon. The man arrived at the hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 4:20 p.m. coming from a complex on Chimney Wood Lane from a private vehicle. He was then declared dead. (WWLTV)
  3. Police are searching for a missing man who was last seen getting into a ride-share vehicle on Sunday. The man, 57-year-old Matthew McGinley, got into a ride share service on Broadway but did not arrive at his hotel. NOPD is asking anyone with information to contact them or Crimestoppers. (WDSU)
