Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:
- NOPD is asking for public assistance in locating a missing 56-year-old man who was last seen in New Orleans East on July 22d. The man, Troy Hutton, was wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans when he disappeared from his home on Virgilian Street. (WWLTV.com)
- A man was shot early Sunday morning on Bourbon Street this weekend. Police responded to the scene around 7:20 a.m. on the 100 block of Bourbon. NOPD has yet to release any more details about a suspect or motive. The victim was later transported to the hospital for treatment. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Tragedy struck on Lake Pontchartrain on Saturday evening when a 21-year-old man was killed after falling from a boat into the water and hit by the propellor. The driver of the boat has been arrested on charges of driving while impaired, vehicular homicide and reckless operation of a vessel. (The Advocate)

- The Jefferson Parish Police officer who saved the life of world renowned rapper L'il Wayne as a child passed away on Friday at the age of 65. Lil Wayne fans know that the rapper accidentally shot himself in the chest at the age of 12 and was saved by an off-duty officer who heard the dispatch call and kicked down the door and drove Lil Wayne himself to the hospital.
