Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:
- A New Orleans East shooting victim arrived at a hospital on Wednesday afternoon suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, a male who was taken to the hospital via a private vehicle, was shot at the intersection of Selma and Stemway streets. NOPD called just after noon when the man arrived at the hospital. - City Council members visited NOLA's criminal court this week to learn more about the judicial process, in particular the experience of juries, as crime in NOLA continues to rise. The council president also claimed the visit was to help influence 2023 budget decisions. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Hundreds of people lined up outside The Phoenix bar on Tuesday to receive their first dose of the monkeypox vaccine and a free shot of liquor. Just after Louisiana announced the state's total case count reached 88, the vaccination event was able to distribute 500 vaccines to residents in need. (WGNO New Orleans)
