Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:

  1. The Louisiana Department of Health has identified two more people that have been infected with monkeypox, making the total case count three in the New Orleans Metro area, including the first patient who was identified last week. There are currently no deaths attributed to monkeypox yet in the United States. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. Police are investigating an incident that left two people shot and injured at a hotel in Gentilly on Tuesday. Police began actively working the scene after the shooting transpired around 3 p.m. (WGNO New Orleans)
  3. After Tuesday's heavy rain and more wet weather predicted this week, the city of New Orleans has allowed neutral ground parking "until further notice." The storms have also left about 6,000 residents without power. (WWLTV.com)
