First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:
- On Monday, the homeless population that has been living at the Naval Base in Bywater that has remained dormant since Hurricane Katrina was cleared out of there by police and EMS. About 40-50 people were asked to abandoned the site and guards have now been stationed to prevent future access. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Police have recovered the body of a man found dead in a submerged SUV in Bayou St. John. A passerby noticed the submerged car on Sunday and after recovering the vehicle and unidentified man was found dead in the back seat. Police are currently investigating the incident as a traffic fatality. (FOX 8 Local First)
- Dr. Avis Williams's began her first day as the permanent New Orleans School's Superintendent on Monday making her the first woman in 181 years to hold that role. Dr. Williams described her plans for the position as "equity, excellence and joy." (WGNO New Orleans)
