Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. A New Orleans homeowner opened fire on a man who allegedly invaded his house, sending the man to the hospital to recover from his wounds. The shooting occurred on Tuesday around 8:20 p.m. when, according to police, the man broke in and was shot by the homeowner, who is cooperating with investigators. (FOX 8 Local First)
  2. Despite the issue of Mayor LaToya Cantrell's flight travel upgrades having been resolved when she paid the city back nearly $30,000 in upgrades, another investigation has continued to dig deeper into her travel costs and is now looking at her hotel room upgrades, which might have violated the city's policy as well on some of her 2022 trips. (FOX 8 Local First)
  3. A woman was wounded and sent to the hospital in a shooting in Central City on Tuesday. Police arrived on scene shortly after 7:30 p.m. to find a woman suffering from a gunshot wound on St. Andrew Street and was transported to the hospital by EMS. (WGNO New Orleans)
