Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:
- A Thursday evening shooting left one woman injured in the Westbank. NOPD began investigating after the victim arrived at the hospital for treatment of her gunshot wound. Detectives determined that the shooting occurred at 5:30 pm on West Bend Drive. (WGNO New Orleans)
- Mayor La Toya Cantrell has denied the accusations of an affair with a former member of her security team, Jeffery Vappie. A divorce petition filed by Vappie's wife alleges that Cantrell and Vappie engaged in an affair. The two were allegedly seen spending long hours together at an apartment in the French Quarter last year. (FOX8LIVE)
- A preliminary report released by the City Planning Commission revealed that among many changes, some new rules for Short-term rentals in New Orleans could mean requiring operators to live onsite at the properties listed at rental websites and only allowing one STR per block which would likely decrease the number of rental properties across the city.
