Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- One person was shot outside the Orleans Parish jail on Wednesday evening. Around 7 p.m. on Perdido Street in Mid-City, one woman was shot, and another was injured by falling glass. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment. (FOX8Live)
- Crime victims and their families gathered on Wednesday evening to share their experience and feedback with DA Jason Williams and New Orleans City Councilmember Eugene Green. The Voice of Victims of Crime organization brought the group together at UNO where victims expressed to Williams and Green that they need to take a holistic approach to combating NOLA's crime in addition to more resources for victims and advocates. - The nonprofit founded by Mayor LaToya Cantrell intended to work with city-sponsored social programs, Forward Together New Orleans, is now suing its former director, Shaun Randolph, for financial abuse and mismanagement after he accused the organization of impropriety.
