Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. Festivities got a little out of hand on Friday night when a confetti cannon from a float allegedly hit a transformer and knocked out the power for almost 2,000 buildings in the area. A video of the incident was posted to social media and the parade was temporarily stopped. (WBRZ)
  2. A juvenile male was shot and injured on Friday evening in Central City. Around 11 PM on Terpsichore Street, the victim was shot and then taken to the hospital for treatment. The incident is still currently being investigated. (WDSU)
  3. A man was arrested on Thursday after allegedly setting a woman's car on fire, according to the Lousiana State Fire Marshall's Office. The charges are simple arson and felonious stalking, after the man also allegedly threatened the woman and her family before setting her vehicle on fire. (FOX 8 Local First)
