First, today's weather:

More winter weather! Partly sunny and cool with a high of 53 and a low of 39.


Here are the top four stories today in New Orleans:

  1. US Customs seized over 500 'prohibited aquatic items' from a couple returning from their cruise back to New Orleans. (WBRZ)
  2. Over 8,000 people were out of power Tuesday morning in Kenner and Metairie due to an unknown cause. Thankfully power was restored and repairs were speedy. (NOLA.com)
  3. An illegal dumping site off Interstate 10 in New Orleans East, a place particularly popular for old tires, caught fire on Monday. Responders were called to deal with the situation followed by more promises from officials that the site will be cleaned up soon. (WWLTV.com)
  4. Two victims were shot on Chef Menteur Highway Tuesday which caused a major traffic backup and closures across all lanes. The details of the crime are still developing. (WDSU New Orleans)
