First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:
- Twice this month at the Louis Armstrong International Airport, human umbilical cords have been found in passenger's luggage. The CDC requires that people have permits for different biological materials, and the passengers were given the option to abandon the umbilical cords or be detained. In both instances, the passengers claimed that the cords belonged to a relative, but chose to abandon them. (WAFB)
- For the first time in over 75 years, endangered Kemp's Ridley sea turtles have returned to nest on the Louisiana coast. Thanks to barrier island restoration efforts, crews from the Louisiana Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority monitoring the Chandeleur Islands are seeing the turtles come on shore to lay their eggs. - Weather forecasters are currently tracking a tropical disturbance that will move into Gulf of Mexico by the end of the week. It has a 20% chance of development, and most believe it won't cross New Orleans territory. The likely outcome felt by the New Orleans area would be a higher chance of rain going into next week.
