Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:

  1. Over a dozen cars were broken into during the Pelicans game on Wednesday. New Orleans police are investigating after 13 cars were burglarized at a parking lot nearby the Superdome on Lafayette Street. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. Two were killed in a shooting outside a Walgreens at the intersection of Gentilly Boulevard and Elysian Fields around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One victim, a 16-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other, a man, was taken to the hospital where he later died.
  3. After four years with the NOPD, the mayor has announced that the New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson will be retiring from his role. The announcement did not give a date for when Ferguson will step down or name a successor. There have been a few names mentioned, and an announcement is expected later this week. (WWLTV)
