Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- A woman was shot around 7 a.m. on Dumaine Street and North Claiborne on Monday morning. She suffered at least one gunshot wound but went to the hospital for treatment transported by a private vehicle. NOPD has not released anything on her condition. (WGNO New Orleans)
- One man was killed in a shooting death in Desire on Sunday night. Police arrived on scene at Ursula Spencer Way just before 9:40 p.m. to find the victim suffering from gunshot wounds who died at the scene. There is an ongoing investigation and the official cause of death will be released after an autopsy and family members are notified. (WDSU New Orleans)
- A marsh fire broke out near the Bonnet Carre Spillway on Monday morning close to mile marker 217. Due to the location of the fire, state police said that it will have to burn away on its own without intervention, but it is not a threat to the nearby bridge or drivers. (WDSU New Orleans)
