Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:

  1. Four shootings left four people injured on Sunday evening over a four-hour period. A juvenile male was shot in the Lower Garden District just after 4 p.m. on Adele Street and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The next shooting took place almost an hour later when a woman was shot on St. Bernard Avenue and was taken to the hospital by EMS. Then, around 6:30 p.m., a man was shot in Plum Orchard on Rhodes Drive. The final shooting took place in the French Quarter around 8:30 p.m. along the river levee Moonwalk. No ages or conditions have been released for the victims. (FOX 8 LIVE)
  2. The driver in a fatal 2016 car crash when he drove a Lamborghini at 118 mph while intoxicated into a flood wall on Tchoupitoulas, killing a female passenger in the car, is now on trial again after only serving 9 months of his 10-year sentence because of new Louisiana sentencing reforms. The family of the victim is suing the driver. (WDSU New Orleans)
  3. A viral tweet from a New Orleans tourist has alerted the greater public to a Royal Street gift shop, Black Butterfly Too, which has apparently been selling white supremacist memorabilia, including statues of Hitler and Confederate items, since at least January. The shop has remained closed since the tweet went viral and has not yet responded to any comments on social media or Yelp where they now have a one-star rating. (NOLA.com)

Today in New Orleans:

  • Yoga with a Vue at Longue Vue House and Gardens (9:30 AM)
  • Tulane University Women's Basketball vs Loyola University (6:00 PM)
  • National Stuttering Association at the Harahan Branch Library (7:00 PM)

From my notebook:

  • Volunteer with the Friends of Lafitte Greenway on Nov. 4 and 5 as they partner with Sustaining Our Urban Landscape NOLA to plant Cypress trees along the Greenway Trail. Link is in their Facebook bio! (Friends of Lafitte Greenway via Facebook)
  • With Entergy shutoffs resuming today, the City of New Orleans is hosting utility assistance events for residents at risk on Wednesday and Thursday at the Joe Brown Park Rec Center. (WDSU New Orleans)
  • NOPD wants to remind parents to inspect their children's Halloween candy after encountering the at times fatal and incredibly potent drug, Fentanyl, come in candied form. (WDSU)

That's it for today! I'll see you around.
