Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- Felipe's Taqueria was vandalized and robbed on the early morning of National Taco Day. Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, employees discovered that the uptown location had been ransacked, with cash, alcohol, computer equipment and TVs stolen. The small chain has already taken a blow from its locations in Southwest Florida and expressed disappointment and anger at the crime in an Instagram post. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Now is the time to donate blood! The New Orleans Blood Center has been activated to assist hospitals in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Currently, only about 1-2 days' worth of blood supply is available to the Hurricane Ian region, which has claimed at least 100 deaths so far, from other parts of the country. The New Orleans Blood Center is urging the city to come in and donate to help with relief efforts for our neighbors in Florida. (WWLTV.com)
- A 73-year-old man was shot and killed on I-10 East on Friday night. Just before 8 p.m. at the Norman C. Francis Parkway, the victim, William Manns, was shot and killed in the 25th highway and interstate shooting in New Orleans this year, an unusually high number. (FOX 8 Local First)
