🌱 Three Rescued From Shark Invested Waters + More Teachers For NOLA

- A boating accident that left three fending off sharks
- Moves have been made by Tulane to bring more teachers to New Orleans
- A 19 year old was killed

Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:
- A 19-year-old woman was found shot in driveway of a LaPlace home on Sunday afternoon. After responded to a shots fired call, the woman was discovered unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was taken to the hospital where she was later declared dead and there is no word yet on potential suspects or motive for the crime. (WGNO New Orleans)
- Three boaters were rescued on Sunday while fending off sharks by the Coast Guard after their boat sank off the shores of Empire. After the three boaters didn't return, the Coast Guard discovered the three boaters in the water, wearing life jackets and battling sharks who were circling them before the Coast Guard showed up. All were rescued and taken to the hospital where two received treatment for their injured hands. (WGNO New Orleans)
- Tulane University has partnered with New Schools for New Orleans to recruit more teachers for NOLA with help from a $10 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The program is designed to bring 552 qualified new teachers to our city. (bizneworleans.com)
