Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed while driving on I-10 West on Wednesday afternoon. The boy, Travis Campell, who was a freshman at McMain Highschool was taken to the hospital after being found on Saint Bernard Avenue where he later passed away. Police are currently searching for a vehicle of interest in the case, which is a white Honda Accord. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. Five Louisiana State Police Officers have been charged in connection with the violent 2019 death of Ronald Greene who passed away while in custody of LA State Police after being pulled over for a traffic violation. Authorities initially claimed that he refused to stop and resisted arrest after Troopers pursued him for a traffic violation and that Greene's death was accidental and the result of cardiac arrest. But two years after his death, body camera footage was published showing five troopers brutally beating Greene. The family's privately commixed autopsy revlealed that Greene sustained many injuries to his skull and face. The incident sparked multiple agencies to investigated the LA State Police force and has resulted in at least one officer being charged with negligent homicide. (New York Times)
  3. The two EF2 tornadoes that touched down in St. Charles and Jefferson Parishes on Wednesday left at least one dead, a few more injured and hundreds with damage and without power. The New Orleans Metro Area is still being surveyed to get the full scope of the storms aftermath, but the city is providing spaces for aid near known heavily damaged areas.
