Hi all. I'm back with your new copy of the New Orleans Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening in the community today.
First, today's weather:
An afternoon shower; humid. High: 92 Low: 79.
Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:
- A deadly crash early Saturday morning left one tow truck driver dead after a car collided with the vehicle he was assisting on I-10 East. Officers responded to the victim, who was found dead at the scene, and and an investigation revealed the origins of the crash and arrested the other driver. (WGNO New Orleans)
- As the trend of dangerous car shows across NOLA has continued, NOPD has finally been able to take action. They issued arrest warrants for the five people, two men and three juveniles, who allegedly did donuts, damaged vehicles and shut down the intersection of St. Claude and St. Roch avenues on Sunday.
- A fight broke out inside one of the pods in the New Orleans Parish Justice center that left four people injured. An investigation is underway while three of the four were moved for treatment. Two are in stable condition and one is in critical condition. (WDSU New Orleans)

- New Orleans' "Voodoo Fest" will be delaying another year and will not roll in 2022. The first break in 2020 was due to COVID, but the 2021 and 2022 events have been cancelled due to unclear circumstances. (WBRZ)
- Popeyes is celebrating its 50th anniversary this week with 59 cent chicken, the original price back when it opened in 1972. The deal lasts until June 19. (WGNO New Orleans)
