As the first in a fleet of international food trucks to launch on the Tulane University campus, Viet-Nomie's is a major hit with students.

A one-stop-shop for authentic Vietnamese dishes, the food truck was introduced by Tulane Dining Services by Sodexo based on student surveys citing a desire for diverse and international dining options.

The initiative to introduce a new concept led Tulane Dining general manager Bill Hudlow to find and purchase Viet-Nomie's in Atlanta, GA, from Nomie and Paul Troung, previous owner-operators of the food truck.

Viet-Nomie's food truck has received numerous awards and acknowledgements, including being recognized in Zagat as one of the “Top 10 Must Try Food Trucks in the U.S.” in 2013 and "Must Try Food Truck in Atlanta" in 2014.

Sodexo has received assistance from the Truongs to ensure a true traditional Vietnamese food concept. All ingredients are sourced fresh from Louisiana.

“The food is amazing, and I’ve been raving about it all day to my friends and basically anyone willing to listen,” said Tulane University student Julie Liu. “I’m definitely going to be a repeat-customer. I’m really happy that I’ve been pretty conservative with my Wavebuck$ spending because the amount of times I’ll go Viet-Nomie’s is going to eat up what I have left.”

The food truck accepts credit/debit cards plus Wavebuck$ and Splash Cash which are campus retail dollars that can be spent like cash at any Tulane Dining Services retail locations, such as the LBC Food Court, The Drawing Board Cafe, City Diner, PJ's Coffee, and food trucks.

Viet-Nomie’s serves fried tofu with fresh tomatoes and scallions served over fragrant jasmine rice and Bun Cha Gio, also known as Jazzi Noodle Boats. Jazzi Rolls are served with rice noodles, lettuce, fresh herbs, pickled daikon and nouc mam.

Meat-lovers are enjoying tender cubes of beef marinated and “wok-shakened” with garlic and onions served over jasmine rice and a vinaigrette salad. Boba tea or boba drinks are made fresh daily.

Tulane Dining has recently launched additional food trucks, including Global Mobile Bistro and two tuktuks which offer Healthy Indian Cuisine and Healthy TU Express.
