Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:
- The New Orleans Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire on Sunday morning in Tremé where a kitchen in a business caught fire around 5:40 a.m. The area was boarded up, which made the fire worse and required NOFD to break in. The second alarm was triggered around 6 a.m. but was taken under control by 6:20 a.m. and no injuries were reported. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Hundreds gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of former New Orleans Mayor Moon Landrieu who was laid to rest on Saturday at the Holy Name of Jesus Church. Landrieu's work for the city of New Orleans included integrating and reforming NOLA's leadership along with spearheading a political legacy continued by his nine children and 37 grandchildren, all of whom were in attendance on Saturday. - Former New Orleans Saints head coach, Sean Payton, is bringing his iconic fighting spirit and love of the Saints to his new position as a Fox Sports analyst. This weekend, while discussion the Falcons vs. Saints game that ended in a close Saints victory on Saturday. Payton remarked in response to discussion around the two teams' rivalry that it "ended 16 years ago," back when he took over as head coach.
