  2. The New Orleans Saints have announced the new roster for the upcoming season, which includes signing a new cornerback, Quenton Meeks. The team also placed linebacker Kiko Alonsoon and tackle Jerald Hawkinson in reserve.
  3. City Council has ordered that investigators and the council should provide "all reasonable assistance" to help identify and rebury the remains of four victims in a 1973 fire of a gay bar that killed 32 people. The four victims, who were burned beyond recognition and have remained unidentified with the exception of one man, WWII veteran Ferris LeBlanc, have been buried in an unmarked grave since the tragedy, which was the largest mass killing of gay people before the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Florida.
