🌱 West Nile Virus Cases Rise + Son Shoots Mother's Alleged Attacker
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in New Orleans.
Hi all. I'm here with your fresh copy of the New Orleans Daily, full of everything you need to know about what's going on in town.I'll get right to it.
First, today's weather:
Mostly cloudy and humid. High: 86 Low: 77.
Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:
- Nearly two months after a New Orleans dad was carjacked and shot by a Bridge City escapee, the man is still in critical condition. The crime occurred in July when six Bridge City inmates escaped and one 17-year-old shot the man and stole his car while he was dropping off Mardi Gras beads for donation. The inmate was caught later that day, but the man he shot is still a long way from complete recovery. (WWLTV.com)
- A man was shot and killed on Sunday after he alleged attacked a woman in the front yard of her home. A mother and son were cleaning their yard when the man struck the mother and then followed her into her home where she fled. The son then allegedly shot the man after a brief struggle. - According to the Mosquito, Termite And Rodent Control Board, the number of mosquitoes infected with West Nile Virus has been increasing in the past few weeks. Mosquitoes collected from Orleans Parish have tested positive this week. Local authorities are urging the public to be extra vigilant with taking care of standing water and wearing bug spray.
