Remembering Lynn (Lindy) Trosper Rosenbleeth (shreveportbossierjournal.com) — Shreveport residents are mourning the passing of 88-year-old Lynn (Lindy) Trosper Rosenbleeth, a Greenwood native who attended Centenary College and was active at Greenwood Methodist and Noel United Methodist churches. Family and friends can pay their respects at a visitation at Osborn Funeral Home on September 12, with memorial gifts suggested to The Hub or Gingerbread House.
   

2. Meet Pauly, a tiny terrier mix seeking a forever home (ktalnews.com) — Animal lovers in Shreveport can meet Pauly, a playful 3‑month‑old terrier mix waiting for adoption at Caddo Parish Animal Services on Monty Street. The shelter invites locals to visit, complete the paperwork, and pay a $75 fee so Pauly can go home once he's neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, trading shelter life for a permanent Shreveport family.
   

3. Mural honors fallen Navy SEALs at Caddo Magnet High (ktalnews.com) — Caddo Magnet High in Shreveport has unveiled a memorial mural honoring alumni Robert Reeves and Jonas Kelsall, Navy SEALs killed in Afghanistan in 2011. Former teachers, family, and House Speaker Mike Johnson say the artwork is meant to inspire current students with examples of courage and service. The mural now stands as a daily reminder of their sacrifice.
   

4. September 11, 2026: Northwest Louisiana Daily Sweep (shreveportbossierjournal.com) — Shreveport police and firefighters are joining Bossier City and parish agencies today for a joint 9/11 first responders remembrance ceremony marking 25 years since the attacks. Local residents are also invited to Bossier Parish Schools' tributes and a noon program at Bossier Parish Community College, including an unveiling of World Trade Center steel.
   

5. LSU Shreveport marks Barksdale's role in 9/11 history (ksla.com) — LSU Shreveport is highlighting Barksdale Air Force Base's pivotal role on 9/11, when President George W. Bush first addressed the nation from the base after leaving Florida. Local voices and a retired lieutenant general reflect on Barksdale's part in Operation Enduring Freedom and the lasting significance of that day for the Shreveport-Bossier community.
