• Sunset Man Convicted (stlandrynow.com) — A Sunset resident has been found guilty of second-degree murder for a 2022 shooting on East Martin Luther King Drive in Sunset that killed another local man. A St. Landry Parish jury returned the verdict Wednesday, and sentencing is set for April 23, 2026, with possible parole eligibility after 25 years because the defendant was a minor at the time.
