Zachary seeks tenants for historic town hall and train depot (wafb.com) — Two historic downtown Zachary landmarks—the old town hall and train depot—are being opened to new business tenants, with proposals due at City Hall by June 30. City leaders hope new shops or restaurants will revive the walkable core while preserving its character, and tours of the old town hall are available throughout June for interested applicants.

High water, power outages reported in some areas during strong storms Tuesday evening (wafb.com) — Flooding in Zachary has completely blocked Port Hudson Pride at Richland and is affecting Highway 19 at Main Street plus several nearby roads, so drivers are urged not to drive through high water or around barricades. Thousands across the region, including Zachary-area residents, are also without power as storms move through, and officials say conditions and outage numbers may change as the evening continues.

Blue-chip WR had 'great time' at FSU's Seminole Showcase (usatoday.com) — A standout 2027 wide receiver has transferred to Zachary High School, bringing added attention to the Broncos as major college programs, including Florida State, pursue him. The 6-foot-3 playmaker, now ranked among Louisiana’s top prospects, recently visited FSU and says the Seminoles’ consistent communication has made a strong impression as he heads into his senior season in Zachary.
   

4. Higher court denies sentence reduction for drunk driver who killed seven (wafb.com) — A state appeals court has upheld the denial of a sentence reduction for the drunk driver who killed seven people in a 2012 crash after leaving a golf club in the Zachary area. The ruling means his 35-year prison term stands, closing another legal avenue in a case that has weighed heavily on families across East Feliciana and nearby communities.
