Maine's Jared Golden Tests Positive For COVID-19
The U.S. representative from Lewiston was the second lawmaker on Tuesday to announce they had tested positive for the disease.
LEWISTON, ME — Jared Golden, a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Maine, announced on Tuesday he had tested positive for COVID-19.
"This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19 for the first time. I have mild symptoms and will remain in Maine this week. While I am home, I will vote by proxy according to House rules," Golden tweeted.
Golden is fully vaccinated, a spokesperson told The Hill.

Rep. Andy Kim of New Jersey also said he was positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to The Hill. Neither were at the House Democratic retreat in Philadelphia last week, which was attended by about half of the House Democratic Caucus' 222 members.
Following the convention, Reps. Zoe Lofgren of California, Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut and Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania all tested positive.
