• 5 Maine companies receive grants from USDA Rural Development (mainebiz.biz subscription) — An Albion farm in Kennebec County has been awarded a $250,000 USDA Rural Development grant to strengthen its organic milk and beef operations, funding marketing, labor, processing, and packaging. The award is part of $1.2 million in value-added producer grants to five Maine agricultural businesses aimed at boosting rural economic vitality and expanding markets.
