• Georges River Land Trust launches $15,000 campaign to create 110-acre public preserve in Union (penbaypilot.com) — Appleton families may soon have a new nearby outdoor classroom, as Georges River Land Trust works to create the 110-acre Sennebec Hill Preserve in neighboring Union with support from Appleton Village School. The preserve would protect sensitive wildlife habitat and offer trails for hunting, foraging, birdwatching, and hiking. GRLT is halfway to its $15,000 fundraising goal and aims to finalize the project by September 2026.
