The program, launched by Gov. Janet Mills to address homelessness, just broke ground on its first site in Augusta and will roll out additional developments over the coming year. 
• Lewiston's Alter L/A warming center prepares for winter, gets $300K grant (sunjournal.com) — Lewiston’s 24/7 warming center Alter L/A just received more than $300,000 from MaineHousing to bolster staffing and prepare for winter, directly affecting people experiencing homelessness in the Lewiston-Auburn area. Staff aim to complete upgrades so the Horton Street facility can become the city’s only 24-hour low-barrier homeless shelter, while continuing to connect guests with housing, health care, and benefits.
