Missing Augusta Girl Found Safe
An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday for a missing 3-year-old Augusta girl who was later found safe.

AUGUSTA, ME β A 3-year-old Augusta girl who went missing Monday night has been found safe. The girl went missing from her Sewall Street residence after her mother was involved in a "medical emergency," police said. She was dropped off at the police station Tuesday night by several individuals, according to Deputy police Chief Jared Mills.
"I can't tell you how relieved we are she is safe," Mills said in a news conference Tuesday.
Police did not identify those individuals as they continued their investigation into the case. No arrests were announced.

During the period she was missing, the girl may have been with a 26-year-old Augusta woman, police said at the time.
Mills said the girl was not harmed. He said "hundreds" of investigators worked on the case and members of the public provided numerous tips and leads.

"Thank you to everyone who assisted with our investigation," Mills said. "The help from the public was overwhelming."
