Clinton Beats Trump in Augusta: ICYMI

AUGUSTA, ME — Augusta voters on Election Day Tuesday chose Hillary Clinton in the presidential race while rejecting a statewide measure to legalize marijuana.

Clinton earned 4,396 votes compared to 3,805 for Donald Trump in Augusta. Augusta voters rejected Question 1, which seeks to legalize marijuana, by a count of 4,740 to 4,194.

Statewide, Hillary Clinton won Maine with three electoral votes while Donald Trump earned one vote. Maine splits its four electoral votes: two go to the statewide winner, one goes to the District 1 winner, and one goes to the District 2 winner. Clinton won the statewide vote and District 1; Trump won District 2.

Also statewide, Question 1 was approved by a razor-thin margin. The yes side won with a 50.2 percent majority.
