REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in IEP team meetings as the administrator.
  • Ensures compliance of special education paperwork produced by the special education personnel.
  • Develops and coordinates tutoring pool required for homebound/hospital bound/suspended students.
  • Assists the Director with required state forms.
  • Provides guidance to special education personnel and principals regarding special education issues.
  • Completes formal and informal observations on special education personnel.
  • Participates in interviews when appropriate.
  • Develops and implements in-service activities for educational technicians and ensures evaluation components are completed by supervising teachers.
  • Coordinate transportation providers for special education needs.
  • Assists in organizing and scheduling psychological examiners.
  • Monitors out-of-district placements.
  • Coordinates with other state agencies.
  • Assists staff with completing observations of students and achievement testing as needed.
  • Monitors staff training needs.
  • Assists with MaineCare billing.
  • Monitors and keeps track of district restraints and/or seclusions.
  • Oversees Extended School Year summer program.
  • Oversees Alternative Assessments for students.
  • Performs such other tasks and duties as determined by the Director of Special Services.

SALARY: Set by the Board of Directors annually
